Landscape Sales & Design 

The Landscape Sales & Design Professional plays a critical role in differentiating the company from its competition and in achieving its sales objectives. The client facing Landscape Designer takes clients all the way from being a sales lead, to being a highly satisfied client who refers friends and family.

The Position

  • Full-time salaried; exempt
  • Reports to General Manager
  • No direct reports

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and provides high quality landscape designs, specifications, and cost estimates that meet/exceed clients’ needs and expectations
  • Sell profitable design/build proposals that meet or exceed sales goals
  • Manage projects sold (does not manage crew)
  • This position is responsible for bringing a consistent flow of profitable design/build projects to the company by responding to company generated leads and continually prospecting for new business
  • Other tasks as needed to support the company’s objectives
  • Initial client interview and consultation
  • Site inspection and assessment
  • Generate high quality landscape designs via design software
  • Prepare thorough and accurate pricing proposals
  • Presentation of the design and proposal in a professional manner to the client
  • Sell the project within approved financial guidelines (size of project, costs, profit margin)
  • Provide specifications and project management on all projects sold
  • Actively monitor and aggressively pursue all proposals in progress

Requirements (Ideal Candidate)

  • Sufficient relevant skill & experience to be effective in this role
  • Able to operate landscape design software
  • Able to generate 3D renderings
  • Willingness to not only design, but also sell and manage projects
  • Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to represent the company in a professional manner
  • Able to work with very minimal supervision
  • Be a motivated high-achiever
  • Able to demonstrate leadership - especially leadership by example
  • Live within 1-hour of Kalamazoo, MI or be willing to relocate
  • Be a good fit in a family-first and friendly office
  • Willing and able to pass drug test
